Gilmer Maps available for purchase!

We are offering a selection of 24” x 36” prints of Civil War maps covering parts of Virginia and North Carolina. The maps were made under the supervision of Col. Jeremy Francis Gilmer, Chief Engineer of the Confederate States of America. The maps provide excellent references of landowners, the terrain, roads, rivers, and landmarks. They are valuable genealogical resources.

The maps are available to the public. Maps are $45 for the first map ($40 for GRIVA members) and $7 for each additional map ($5 for GRIVA members). For example, if you order 3 maps as a GRIVA member, you would pay $50. ($40 + $5 + 5 = $50)

Many of these maps are available digitally at The Library of Congress (www.loc.gov) and The University of North Carolina Library (https://library.unc.edu). You can view them online to help you identify the specific maps you would like to order.
