November Program: Nonna Good – Obtaining Land in Colonial Virginia

Have you always wanted to learn how colonials obtained their land? This program discusses land boundaries and frontiers and how that established land grants and tracts. Various types of rights to claim land in colonial times will be explained.

Nonna Daleen Good is a native of Clarke County, Virginia and currently lives in the Shenandoah Valley. She specializes in genealogical records in the northwestern areas of Virginia. She has been conducting genealogical research since the 1980s. Nonna has been the Registrar for the Narrow Passage Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for 9 years. She has conducted genealogy workshops and presentations to many Virginia and Nebraska DAR Daughters. She has transcribed records and submitted articles for the Magazine of Virginia Genealogy. Nonna is a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Iranian Hostage Crisis and Grenada. She is a current member of the DAR, National Society US Daughters of 1812, Descendants of the Mexican American War, Descendants of American Prisoners of War, National Society Descendants of American Railroad Workers, and the Hereditary Order of the Signers of the Bush Declaration. Nonna has also served on the Board of the Virginia Genealogical Society.
