Donate to Support GRIVA Projects

GRIVA is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization. (EIN: 52-1258689). Established in 1981, we are an all-volunteer organization. GRIVA’s diverse membership is comprised of family historians and genealogists from all over the United States. We seek to preserve the priceless heritage bequeathed to us by our ancestors. You can donate to one of our two funds to help us achieve these goals!

GRIVA’s Historic Preservation Fund identifies and adopts documents of significance in need of conservation. Through the generous donations of GRIVA members and friends, these records are conserved, preserved, protected, and made available to researchers.

Some previous projects to which this fund has aided include restoring stones at St. John’s Cemetery, and conserving maps and documents, such as records of the 1776 Virginia Convention, the Richard Young 1817 map of Richmond, and the John Wood 1819 map of Henrico County, and more! Andrew Hogwood Memorial Fund

Established to fund scholarships at Clover Hill High School, the Memorial Fund has expanded to include projects of preservation, acquisitions, collaboration, and of course, genealogical scholarship.

Andrew Hogwood, was a long-time GRIVA leader, member, and friend. Through the years he served as GRIVA’s President and Treasurer and contributed frequent columns on genealogy to GRIVA News & Notes. Under his leadership, GRIVA developed a partnership with Clover Hill, which continues today. In his memory, GRIVA established the scholarship that has been awarded to three student genealogists. However, recognizing need across the broader genealogical community, GRIVA is excited that Drew’s name will now be attached to a wider variety of projects. We think Drew would approve!
